Missouri Registered Agent Services: The 2026 Price Card

Dependable registered agent service throughout Missouri — $99 annually. That fee covers the office address, scanning of legal correspondence, and reminders for state filings.

Missouri cityscape

Transparency first, because it changes how you should read the rest. Missouri Registered Agent.co assembled this comparison, ranked itself number one, and earns money when a reader accepts that ranking. Discount our self-assessment accordingly. The prices are not opinion at all. Each figure was transcribed from what the vendor itself advertises, checked in July 2026, and one of those figures comes in below ours.

Our Case for the First Row

A company that ranks itself number one owes you evidence instead of adjectives, so here is the evidence:

  • Same-day handling. Service of process delivered to our Missouri registered office is scanned, uploaded, and emailed before the day ends. A response deadline begins running at service, not at the moment you find out about it.
  • One price, kept. The $99 covers the first year and every year following it. No renewal tier exists, no loyalty penalty, no quiet increase arriving in year three.
  • A single product. The order form sells registered agent service. It does not stack operating agreements, EIN filings, or compliance bundles on top.
  • Your address stays out of it. Ours is what appears on the registered office line of the public record, which keeps yours off it.
  • One disclosed extra. Scanning non-legal mail is $15 per item, stated on this page instead of discovered on a later statement.

What we cannot claim is the smallest number on the card. Judged only against advertised stickers, the cheapest registered agent service in Missouri belongs to BetterLegal at $90 a year, beating us by nine dollars. Our claim is the narrower one: $99 is among the lowest flat annual prices listed here, same-day scanning comes inside that price instead of being charged on top of it, and the number holds still for as long as you stay with us.

2. Northwest Registered Agent

The runner-up position is earned rather than given. Northwest publishes exact figures, staffs support with its own people, and treated owner privacy as central to the product long before its competitors thought to. Then come the conditions. That complimentary first year attaches to a Northwest formation and vanishes if you buy agent service on its own, where the price is $125 annually. Getting to $100 requires registrations in at least five states, which a business trading only in Missouri is never going to satisfy. Plan on $125, which sits twenty-six dollars a year above this site for a role carrying identical duties.

3. BetterLegal

BetterLegal prints $90, the smallest renewal figure anywhere on the card, and we verified it during the July 2026 review. The gap is the first year, which their site does not spell out anywhere we could locate. When a comparison rests on published pricing, a complete $99 outranks an incomplete $90. That is a ranking judgment and not a complaint about the service. Reach their checkout, read how year one bills, and if the terms suit you, the price is legitimately low.

4. Rocket Lawyer

One hundred twenty-five dollars a year, identical at every membership level, with no introductory rate tucked into any tier. Consistency of that kind deserves credit. Fit is the real question. What Rocket Lawyer really sells is a legal subscription, with agent service shelved inside it beside contract templates and attorney consultations. A business using the rest of the subscription gets its money's worth. A Missouri owner who wants an in-state address and quick document turnaround is paying for the whole library to borrow a single book.

5. ZenBusiness

The onboarding experience is excellent and we will say so plainly. The pricing deserves a second look. On its own, the agent plan runs $99 plus state fees to begin, and renewals land at $199 annually thereafter. Because an agent is a permanent fixture in Missouri, $199 is the figure that describes your real cost. Set against a flat $99, that is an extra hundred dollars annually, spent on an interface rather than on the service behind it.

6. Bizee (formerly Incfile)

Bizee, previously Incfile, bundles free agent coverage into its formation packages for a window running from three months out to twelve, depending on the package chosen. Founders forming through Bizee benefit genuinely. The risk sits at the handoff: when the free window shuts, standalone service resumes at $149 a year, and an expiry date nobody wrote down is easy to sail straight past. Missouri sharpens that risk, because the state mails no annual filing notice that would prompt you to review the arrangement.

7. LegalZoom

Two hundred forty-nine dollars a year, renewing automatically, the highest flat rate on the card, and our July 2026 review found no first-year reduction attached anywhere. What the money buys is name recognition, which is worth something to some buyers. What it does not buy is preferential handling from the Missouri Secretary of State, whose requirements do not vary with what your agent charges: a Missouri street address, availability through business hours, prompt delivery of whatever arrives. The premium works out to $150 a year above this site.

8. Swyft Filings

That $149 headline is a quarterly bill dressed up as a price tag. Multiply by four and the true yearly cost lands near $596, the highest outcome on this page by a wide margin, with no first-year break surfacing in our review. Quarterly pricing has a way of feeling smaller than the sum of its parts. Put in Missouri terms, twelve months with Swyft costs almost twelve times what the state charges to create the LLC online in the first place.

9. Inc Authority

Free for the opening year, undisclosed after that. Our July 2026 pass over the frequently asked questions, the package listings, and the front page produced no renewal price at all, which typically means it surfaces at checkout or during a phone conversation. A price card can only rank prices that exist on the page, so this listing finishes ninth. The free year is real and worth something. A renewal figure you are not permitted to read before committing is worth considerably less.

The Annual Report Missouri Vendors Keep Selling You

Plenty of national formation companies advertise annual report reminders and annual report filing among the things your money buys. Applied to a Missouri LLC, that add-on covers a filing you do not make.

Missouri LLCs file no annual report and no biennial report. There is no form, no due date, no fee, and no franchise tax. The recurring registration report Missouri is known for descends from the corporation statute, RSMo 351.120, and it reaches for-profit and nonprofit corporations only, with an option to file every other year instead under RSMo 351.122. The Secretary of State's registration report portal exists for those entities. An LLC hunting for its report there will not find one, because Chapter 347 never created the duty in the first place.

So when a nationwide vendor's Missouri page promises to keep your annual report on schedule, it is applying corporation rules to a company that is not a corporation. The promise costs you nothing directly. It is still a fair signal about how carefully that vendor reads any individual state before selling into it.

What Missouri Actually Requires, Without Interruption

One duty does run continuously. RSMo 347.030 obliges your LLC to maintain a registered agent and a Missouri registered office at all times, and failing at it is grounds for administrative dissolution. With no report on the calendar, that agent line is not part of your compliance program in this state. It is the whole program.

Eligibility is narrow:

  • An individual who is a Missouri resident and keeps a business office at the registered office address.
  • A corporation, formed in Missouri or a foreign one holding authority to operate here, likewise with its business office at that same address.

Two exclusions catch people out. LLCs are missing from that eligibility list, an unusual quirk of Missouri drafting. And your own company cannot serve as its agent, a prohibition stated directly in the instructions on the state's Corp. 59 form. On addresses: a PO box qualifies only in conjunction with a physical street address, the registered office need not be the place where you conduct business, and somebody has to be reachable there through normal business hours.

Missouri's fee schedule is gentle at both ends of the relationship.

Changing agents costs $10. Form Corp. 59 is the state's statement of change for a registered agent, a registered office, or both together, and it goes to the Missouri Secretary of State, Corporations Division. The official schedule of fees and charges fixes the price at a flat ten dollars, LLCs and corporations alike. One condition applies. Your incoming agent has to sign the statement or supply written consent attached to it, so the service you are moving toward must cooperate in the move. We prepare that paperwork as part of switching, and the change of agent walkthrough covers the order of operations.

Starting is inexpensive too, and Missouri does something almost no other state does: it charges less for the online path. Articles of Organization, form LLC-1, cost $50 filed through the Secretary of State's business portal against $105 submitted on paper. A small third-party convenience fee applies to card payments, and the electronic route still wins comfortably.

Add a flat $99 agent fee to those numbers and a Missouri LLC's lifetime bill from the Secretary of State stays remarkably small. Which is a good reason to be particular about the one recurring charge you do carry.

Choosing From the Card

All nine qualify under Missouri law, so the decision reduces to what each charges, how quickly documents move, and whether the second-year price is printed where a buyer can see it. One service bills quarterly and reaches roughly $596. One keeps its renewal off the page entirely. The famous one asks $249. This site asks $99, then the same $99 next year, with same-day scanning and a Missouri street address standing in for yours in the public record. In a state that asks nothing else of you annually, that is the line worth getting right.
